I've been a longtime member and lurker of these forums. I have always been a fan of this car. I used to have a 77 spider that I bought for $120 off eBay but that was a huge mistake. It wasn't in terrible shape, but had more problems than I could handle back then. It had terrible paint, a torn front shock tower mounting hole, a broken transmission, and a broken top. I hoarded some parts intending to fix it, but I ended up donating it.
Fast forward to now, I have bought another spider but in much better condition.
The pros: body is very straight, engine runs great, decent red interior.
The cons: no brakes, no top, and the engine does not shut down when the key is in the off position. There is a short somewhere and the fuel pump is constantly on when the battery is connected.
The engine sounds great, and the body in good condition. The brakes and fuel pump seem like minor issues and will be addressed soon. Short story long, thanks to the fiat spider community for an excellent resource. I will be looking to these forums to help me get my spider road worthy again.

Sounds like you've got a great base to start from. What colour is it? The red interior sounds great.

Where are you? There's a few of us way up north and quite a few in the Bay Area.

It's no concours car but it will do.
The original paint was red, but previous owners have painted it white. I have only seen tan and black interiors so I am wondering if red is a factory available option.
Photos will be on their way.
I'm in the Bay Area. I'm sure there are plenty of other fiat owners in the area.
