1976 Ignition Switch Connection Markings

Post by velozi »

Ordered a 1976 ignition switch from IAP and it came with no markings. The black plastic on mine was smooth in contrast to the one in this photo that was reused from another discussion.

Original one on left and the IAP type on right. Hope this helps in case you receive an unmarked unit.

Any idea what color wires go on the switch on the right. I went to pull the sheathing back and all the wired disconnected from the back of the switch. I have the book and wiring diagrams but they are too confusing to understand. If anyone has a picture or knows where each wires goes, I could use it.

Thanks

it is really worth considering cleaning up the original, they are constructed much better than the newer units. Shame your connection for the bell has been cut, I use this for my ACC position for my radio.

Why not call the vendor and ask for the instructions?
