Hi,
My name is John Nicosia and I own a 1971 Fiat Spider. I purchased the car in 1989 to restore and recently put it on the road in 2011. I love the sound it makes. It is yellow with black interior. The car has the dino style rims. I had my first week of commuting with the car last week. I have a long history with Italian cars and they are my passion and hobby.

Hello John,
Wecome. Thanks for finally joining the forum. Sounds like you have plenty of experience that you might share with us. Post some pictures and tell a little of your story. I've got a yellow Spider too. I'd like to see a picture of your car with the Dino wheels. The Cromodoras like the CD3's?

Yes, Welcome.
I'm down the road a ways in Springfield.
Gee, there seems to be more and more folks that found their way to Fiat!

Re: New from Andover, MA
Hi,
Here is a little bit more about myself. I am the son of an Italian immigrant and its his fault that I am passionate about these automobiles. I grew up driving these cars. My first car was a Fiat Strada which I drove to hell and back. Boy could that motor rev!!! Then in 1985 my Dad took me to Italy where we purchased a few cars to import to the US. My car was a 1971 Fiat Dino coupe (2.4 ltr). To date the most enjoyable car I have ever owned. I traded the car on a Ferrari 308. In the meantime, I also owned 3 Alfa 164s a Fiat X19 (another great car) and an Alfa Spider. All the time the Fiat Spider was moved around waiting for its restoration. Well, after years of tinkering and getting help from some very knowledgeable friends I am starting to use the car daily, of course just in time for winter. If the roads are dry I will continue to drive it
It would be great to establish a group of some local owners and go for the occasional cruise. In the past, a few of my friends and I would get togetgher to go for a drive up the coast. I have a buddy who is the middle of completing a build of a Lancia Scorpion. Once it is complete is he will definitely up for some rides along the coast.
My latest project is to build a nice street 2.0 for my spider. I recently purchased a lot of parts from an enthusiast in Western Mass and the lot included all and more than what I needed to build this motor. I have some hi-comp pistons, cams and 44 mm dual webers.
Lastly, in August of 2012 we purchased a 500c. We really enjoy the car and even though it only has 101 hp it is still a blast to drive.
Thanks for letting me introduce myself.
Regards,
John D. Nicosia

Hey, welcome to the group. I"m in Georgetown, and am restoring a 79 2000. Would be great to all get together and head up the coast. Car is not drivable at the moment, but getting closer! Should have it done soon, though!

Re: New from Andover, MA
Just drove up last night. I am happy that I finally have the car on the road but sad that it is so late in the season. Drove to the coast last night. It would be awesome to take that drive with a group of cars. Good luck with your resto. Again, I bought my car in 1989 and got it on the road last year.
