Re: Hi from Australia
Thanks for the compliments John.
My Spider was brought over from California by Bits of Italy then spent 2 years in my home workshop going back to a bare metal shell and converting over to right-hand-drive.
I know Phil at BOI well. He knows his stuff and has helped me out with my Spider and Coupe on numerous occasions.

Have arranged new Koni red shocks today car will be going in tomorrow afternoon, also having a look at brakes will need a complete new setup front & rear they have been shaved down so many times theres nothing left in them any thoughts on what I should do ? Just wanting to get the car road worthy & safe after that will start looking at the engine

Re: Hi from Australia
the interior looks, did you get the boot to cover the convertable? If so what colour is it?
the original rotors are cheap enough and really easy to replace, it may be worth a brake caliper over haul it they are not operating too well, that can be a bigger job but doable.
do you have history in the car with receipts??
If not do the usual fluid changed, (don't forget diff, gearbox and brake) as well as the engine oil and coolant.
May be wise to do the timing belt and tensioner if you don't know when it was last done.
How is the engine?

Re: Hi from Australia
Great advise ! Yes the boot cover is as the interior red, see page 1
Just been told I will have to remove the top to pass road worthy (due to bad vision through the rear screen)
They will pass it as a roadster , thats ok it will be at least another 4-5 weeks before the new German TanTan top arrives from USA will have brakes & suspension done by then.
Unfortunately no history supplied will chase the previous owner to see what he may have.
The engine looks as if it hasn't seen a tooth brush for the last 10 years
will be taking it to BOI Performance for a complete overhaul once I can drive it around
she should be complete in time for the big Fiat day in February
Overall the body is in VGC and will only be doing minor cosmetic work
chrome mirrors , dash repair ,and would luv to get a wooden steering wheel 60s style
staying away from the wheels even though the wide rubbers look good Im happy with the 13 for now
The rims and white walls have a real classic look that attracted me to this car.
Cheers

Go to the "User Control Panel". You should be able to take it from there.

Re: Hi from Australia
Hi thought it was time for a progress report.
Its now been 6 weeks since I last posted and a lot has happened, Ive had the car for only 1 week in my driveway and 5 weeks at the mechanic After a complete inspection It became clear that It must have been in an accident or 2 over the years but had been fixed professionally so on the outside looked the goods.
However for those who have an eye on precision could see a different story.
Has this car also been sitting under water as there was a water line stain on the engine , we know that Queensland went through bad flooding about a year and a half ago so was this car stuck in the garrage under the house for some time a decision had to be made , Is the car sound solid and straight and is it worth investing in the answer was yes no signs of rust that could cause issues down the track overall the body is in very good condition considering its age.
Work completed this week, all parts replaced with new, Engine booth to be resprayed this week
New 84.4 Performance Pistons ordered along with a new Oil Pump hope to have those later in the week
New Dual Webbers , with special thanks to Csaba from auto ricambi Cheers.

Re: Hi from Australia
Pininf,
Where did you get the suspension done, I see you used the lower king springs. Which shocks did you use and if they were stiffer do you like the ride. I am thinking of using the same springs with standard shocks as I don't want a harsh ride.
Also was that a new front sway bar or did you fit a rear one?

Hi , the car is still at the mechanic (Marty) at the lilydale service centre so haven't driven the car yet.
We fitted new heavy duty sway bars to the front and rear with koni yellow shocks.
Go to; http://www.vickauto.com then click on catalogue download in Fiat parts
Cheers
