New Fiat freak from Canada

Post by m1llwright »

Hello from Canada. I'm looking for my first Fiat spider right now. I plan to drive it sorta daily (I take the bus or walk most places), and autoslalom it every once in a while. Anyone got a line on a good runner near Calgary Alberta or in the northwestern states I'd be interested. Not a hell of a lot for sale near me. Also anyone wanting to share experiences slaloming these cars I'd love to hear about it.

Hi there.
Welcome to Fiat-land.
There is one here in Penticton. Think it was an 80 or 81... FI anyway.
It is supposed to be in good shape but the wheels were painted red, kinda not my style..
He has some spares with it as well. Not sure of the price, but I believe it is sorted and you could drive it without anything really needing to be done to it...except change the wheels :?
PM me and I can pass on the fellows number and info Or I'll send a note this afternoon.. I have no problems in taking a closer look as it is on the way home from work. I believe he works afternoons or evenings.

Hi!

I live in Victoria BC and have a 79 Fiat Spider I just started autocrossing with this season. My Fiat is stock but with an upgraded carb (it needed a new one anyway and the cost difference to upgrade was minimal. Love the new sound of it!)
I participated in 3 autocross events this summer and my Fiat handled great. In the most recent event I shaved over 12 seconds off my run time between my slowest and fastest time for 60.607. Next season I will aim for sub-60 second time.
The fastest cars in our club are running the track at just under 46 seconds - but these are the heavily modified cars with racing slicks and engine mods. So I don't feel too bad with my little stock Fiat :D.

Let me know if you try it with yours. I'm interested in finding out what these cars can do with a really experienced driver.

Good luck!
