which is switch?
is the high temp sensor the one closest to the radiator or is that the one that makes the gage read? i'm conflicted.
if you can't be an example, be a warning.

Re: which is switch?
thank you for posting that, sir. i had found that information in my haynes manual, but couldn't be sure it was right! i searched the forum and found a post from feb., 2011 that said the forward sensor was for the gage, so you can see how i was conflicted. i replaced some components in the cooling sys on my '74 1800 yesterday, and could not get the temp gage to come to mid-scale. switch in radiator, forward switch in head and the thermostat were all replaced. after running awhile, took some reading w/infrared thermometer and top of radiator was about 190f and head was slightly higher. still gage was just reading about 1/4 scale (squarely between 120f and 190f). taking cabin heater out of equation made the gage move slightly, but not much. tested the components in water on the stove before intall, and they seemed within reasonable spec. burped the sys a little, but litle air present. all i can think of is a "hanging" thermostat or a bad gage; gage seemed to work fine beforehand.
if you can't be an example, be a warning.
