Hello,
just a quick summary of my work on Prunette.
Here is how it was before :
A litlle cleaning first.
And finally wired.
Same on the cockpit side, but still in progress
This is NOT before, but just after I started.
upper console back in place
still a lot to be done :
brakes hoses and fluid tank
bleed the brakes
radio stand
ignition switch
dashboard, wheel, etc...
fuel pump relay and switch
turn the key
to be followed
work in progress

Re: work in progress
You forgot something westy...a drivers seat would be handy..
This job reminds me so much of when I did the conversion from LHD to RHD, a very satisfying feeling knowing connections and earths are in order. That spiral loom is great stuff isn't it.

It took me some time to get used to drive without seat, but now it's okay...Fi8spider wrote:You forgot something westy...a drivers seat would be handy..
When (if) the engine cranks, then I know all the work was done correctly...Fi8spider wrote:This job reminds me so much of when I did the conversion from LHD to RHD, a very satisfying feeling knowing connections and earths are in order. That spiral loom is great stuff isn't it.

Re: work in progress
I believe you !
First : ignition on
any smell, any flame, any light, any pump working ?
turn signals, front, side ?
maybe a few tests on the voltage here and there ...
Then : try to crank the engine.
I hope in feb !

Re: work in progress
my first goal was to clean the engine bay,
then remove from the wire harness all the useless wires.
most of them were useless as the low emission equipment had been removed, but wires were still in place.
all over the engine bay, and under the dashboard.
in the cockpit, too, as the key buzzer, belt buzzer, were removed.
shortening some wires, protecting and routing them the best I could.
simplifying anytime it was possible.
then replace the old spare Renault ignition switch by an original Fiat Spider one (thank you John).

Re: work in progress
well, two months after the due date,
After rewiring the whole engine bay, dashboard and cockpit, it was time to see what would happen when switching the battery on.
good things are :
no flash
no flame
no smoke
no fuse blown
bad things are:
key off, engine fan is turning
fuel pump is pumping
oil pressure light is on
hazard switch is on (green)
I will check what's up with the relays, as a start.
to be followed
