I've owned my spider 2000 for 25 years and I love it. I have some rust setting and electrical issues now but it has been good to me so I will be good to it and start a restore process soon, I just don't no where to start any ideas let me know.
Happy to be on board.

Re: 1981 fiat spider 2000
Welcome.
I also own an 81. I just bought it last spring from the original owner that took pretty good care of it. It used to be a turbo but it has been removed.
This is one of the better sites to be on for your goals.
Good luck and post some shots of your car.

Re: 1981 fiat spider 2000
The rust is what it is. there are a ton of threads on this site to help out with the area of rust. Example shock towers, near the wheal wells or the floor pans. For the most part, as long as the sock towers up front are good and the frame is still solid you can fix rust. For the electircals you may get lucky. If everyting had been working for some time check all your fuses, clean the fuse box, clean the ground pod areas, make sure your grounding strap is in good shape and the connections are solid. It is amazing what quick electrical results are found on these cars when cleaning ground pods and ensureing tight connections. A lot of posts on both rust and electricals. Your in good hands with this crew.
perhaps describe the areas of rust as well as the specific electrical issues you are having for more pointed help.

I second that about the electricals. I can't count the number of times that a thread here has ended with: "the ground connection was bad".

George with NJ Fiats was using a guy for paint in the Pocono area of PA. Seemed reasonable price wise and quality of work. Feel free to chime in George or Ralph.
