My Spider Story

Post by Brunosfiat »

I'm new to the forum, about a week now, and thought I'd share my spider story. My father purchased the spider new in 1980. It became my high school and college car during the spring/summer months from 1985-1991(it was a great chick car). After that time my father got HIS car back. It was a weekend car that my father would take out on occasion. He loved the car. Then in the summer of 2002 some guy in a parking lot offered to buy the car from my father. I guess the offer was too good for him to refuse and the next thing I knew, the car was gone!

My father passed away in 2007. Every time I think of my dad I laugh and remember him driving the Fiat on lazy Sunday afternoons. On a sunny day in 2011 I found myself again thinking about my dad and the spider. I told my wife that day that I really wished I had gotten the car from my father. She suggested that I find it! I happen to be a police officer so tracking the VIN wasn't difficult (it helps when your mother doesn't throw away old registrations). I found the car 3 towns away and contacted the owner. As fate would have it, he had fallen on hard times and was in the process of getting a divorce. Needless to say the spider, my dad's spider, is home! I'm in the process of restoring her back to her original beauty. I can't wait to take my mother out for a ride on a lazy Sunday afternoon! She doesn't know I have the car!

R.I.P. Bruno (Dad)

Thanks for the minute,

I love stories like that, some people don't understand the connection with a machine, but it's the stories like that that keep the memories alive, well done, I'm sure your dad would be looking down with pride...

Jimmy Cricket!! Can we go a week! Hey, does anyone else find the fact that this guy has shoes and socks on as if he left the house that way disturbintg. It explains why the top was up! He is assuming the position as if her were pulled over, clearly not a good day for law enforcement. This is the forums own form of unsuccessful shock therapy. And the M***** word continues and the M**** owners picture still does not dissuade some from ownership!!
Buon giro a tutti! - enjoy the ride!
