return to here and little light
Re: return to here and little light
Just wanted to say thanks to 4uall. He got the pix on the little mystery light on photobucket and posted them on the page for me. If anyone can recognize the light appreciate and heads up. Thanks, Joe.

That looks like a custom PO job, probably wanted some sort of power indicator for some reason?

Re: return to here and little light
looks like the the fiber optics for the heater control panel. There's a metal tube that you push the bulb into. Coming out of that tube at the other end should be a bundle of fiber optic lines; am thinking it is probably four or maybe five of them. If that bulb is working, the fiber optic lines run along under the center console and each line then clips into little plastic windows that are under the heater console, and light them up, so you can see the console at night. The replacement consoles that are out there on the market don't have these. Look for an original one in good condition. You can also buy the bundle of fiber optic lines from a number of the Fiat parts suppliers out there. Looks like a bit of butcher job from a PO with that bulb and wire...
Re: return to here and little light
thanks mrclancy. This little light shares the hot side spade connector with the fiber optical housing. I changed the bulb in the fiber optic housing and they all come on when I turn the key on, and so does the little light. I am beginning to suspect this is a little light for illuminating somthing. Bly the way the light was burnt out, couldn't find it anywhere online or at Bulbman in Reno. On a whim I went to Radio shack, and there it was. Soldered it in and it work fine. So now just got to find out where it went. Thanks for the heads up.--Joe
Re: return to here and little light
Okay, to all who emailed my about the little light. Best is it goes into the back of the AC control to illuminate the condtrol dials. I was pretty weak so I built up a bigger light holder and inserted it. I used the same two wires. Now researching seat belt webbing replacement. Read several articles here. There are some really clever people fooling around with fiats. Glad your are all out here. Thanks for your suggestions and help. Joe
