Courtesy light repair

Post by dmwhiteoak »

I repaired my light after I bought my car but on the 4th of July of last year my wife broke it because it would not turn off with the doors open, needless to say she is forbidden to touch anything in the car as she is only a guest. Today I installed a new Alpine stereo and decided to fix the dome light while I was in there, thats what we call it here. A spring come loose and I don't know where it goes. I am thinking it goes between the rocker and the bulb. Has anyone had there's apart and remember where it goes. Here is a pic of what I got.

Dennis,
It goes under the ball bearing on the end of the switch button. There is supposed to be a metal ball that touches the contact...
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info Don. Unfortunantly the 35 year old plastic case cant take alot of pressure .So I will post in the parts wanted section and try and source another light. FYI ,The ball bearing is smaller than a BB.
