Hi all,
Just bought a 72 spider here in Boise. Glad to be here and looking forward to getting a spider with the blues, happy again.
Overall she's in good condition. Bought from another member RupertSportSpider you can see his post on the for sale board.

Hi there. A set of metric wrenches,a manual or two, fridge with instalation fluid, and you can fix just about anything on these cars.
Majicwrench (Kieth) is up in Libby Mont. and is knowlagable with these cars. Think he has a fiat around your vintage.
If you ever have the hankering to head north for a drive and then west, stop and say hi. he Can. dollar is going south to off set the stupid high price of gas here.

take as many pictures of your handy work along the way so if you have a question just remember ' a picture is worth a 1000 words"
also a few phrases you will need to become accustomed to along the way are as follows. feel free to add you own "spiderisms" everybody!
installation fluid= Beer or any other fluid that removes your short term memory!
semi-metric- a standard Wrench filed down slightly to fit (also see-ameritic or metrician))
go juice- gasoline, petrol, beer, jack daniels, ETC.... depending on which motor you are trying to start
New York city jack stands- cinder blocks, logs or old rims
get out of jail free card- a gift certificate to Allison Auto

http://i1299.photobucket.com/albums/ag6 ... 2c6b36.jpg <-----here is a link to the only pic I have right now. Will be taking more very soon. I am very happy so far with the Spyder and very glad I was able to find a great place to find resources.
I believe I have all the required garage accouterments - stocked bar , stocked toolbox, welder, paint sprayer, 4 manuals besides the 3 it came with , enough spare parts to keep my in budget for quite some time and most importantly a patient wife.
P. S. The car still has a whine to it. Even though the PO replaced T-belt tensioner bearing etc. It is not nearly the buzzsaw sound it was but still present enough to make me nervous. Should I replace the belt again or is there a way, if it is rubbing to fix without replacement of a all but new belt?
Thanks

It is posable the tensioner bearing was flawed or posably damaged during installation or debres in the water pump, also there may be object on a cog or flawed timing belt.
Good luck
Good luck

Adjusted the tbelt engine is no longer whining but I must have bumped a wire under the dash or something because now the charging system light stays on, ugh.

Try tightening the alternator belt.
