Hey John

I'm glad that there are other members in the city. I bought the car a couple of weeks ago out of Cochrane. The car has 78000 km on it, so it's in pretty good shape. I see out of the 3 in Saskatoon, mine is the oldest so you guys may have to wait for me to catch up if there is a nice day for a cruise :P I also see a lot of members have the 14" turbo wheels.....which at some point I wouldn't mind getting my hands on. Hope our Sask weather gives us a long driving season....

"I also might be heading to Comox this summer with it, so I might run into you Bruce."

Pretty ambitious, Kolin. Let me know if/when your coming out and I'll try and arrange my time to be around. We go up to a little RV/Marina Resort near Port McNeill for much of the summer but are back and forth fairly often.

Hey Bruce,

I do realize it is quite ambitious, but it would be a leisurely drive in short spurts over a couple of weeks. I've made drives like that in older and less reliable cars, so I hope all will be fine. I have yet to really evaluate the car much since I just bought her, but it looks promising. I will definitely get in touch when the plan looks a little more concrete. Hopefully the kids at Quadra don't give you much grief this summer. :)

Welcome Kolin,
I think the color is cool. It used to be my favorite color. Now that I'm older, I don't have a favorite. But I do have an out-of-favor interior color-black. On a sunny day, a black vinyl interior on a convertible will burn your skin every time! Every time! Every time!

I can't understand why most convertibles have a black interior. This is my third convertible. First was a '70 VW Karmann Ghia with white interior, second, a '63 Corvair with black interior, 3rd, my spider with the cream interior.

Cream doesn't burn and doesn't show the dirt like white does.

I hadn't thought of the black showing the dirt as much as the black....good call. As well, I am all too aware of being burnt by seats. My first car was a 78 Pontiac Phoenix had a vinyl that got very hot and my second was a 77 Buick Skylark that had these horrible brass emblems right between the shoulder blades affixed to the seat that would burn through a shirt. As far as color, it's not that I mind this one so much , it's that it doesn't feel Italian at all, or maybe that it doesn't fit the era. The longer I look at it though, the more I can accept it, so we'll see. :)
