Cleaning gas tank

What is the best way to clean F.I. Gas tank . I found one but has lots of funk in it.

my understanding is to have it boiled/steamed by a garage then treated/coated inside then pressure tested

Best?? Is it rusted inside?? If not, I would just rinse it well with hot soapy water, repeatedly, then some fuel or alcohol. FI has to be pretty dang clean or you endager the pump, a rad shop should be able to make it spiffy inside if gunk won't go away. If it is rusted ya gonna have to go the whole route and treat it POR 15 Tank stuff or something like it.

I put a length of chain inside with water to start. shook it around for a while, repeat several times to try and get as much flake off as possible. let dry overnight and then I had bought a 3 part tank clean/seal kit for about $60.00
So Far no issues (touch wood) with the tank on my FI.

I've had luck by getting a rad shop to dunk it in their cleaning tank.

I had a radiator shop that I like clean and seal mine and they charge me 60.00

Thye rad shop is the best idea.The problem with clean/seal kits with the f.i. tank is the baffle in the middle.You cant see whats going on in that side of the tank.I priced having it boiled and sealed by a radiator shop,and it was as much as a new tank.I bought a new tank.If I could have found a shop to just cleanit,I would have gone that route.

Well I went to dollar store and bought the works toilet bowl cleaner and. Used it. Man talk about cleaning a tank and making it look brand need inside. They say to neutralize it with backing soda so it won't flash rust guess I will find out tommorrow
