Bought a 95 amp alternator but having problem removing the lower bolt from old one
Using a 19mm 1/2 drive socket and a Pc of 1"" pipe for leverage got it to turn
But after an hour of turning it won't back out.
Is it possible it was stripped at one time by someone using a
Impact driver. Hard to turn but moves. Don't see the thead getting shorter on the backside of the mount.
Any suggestions out there? What if stripped?

The lower alternator bolts get rusted in bad a lot of times. Use penetrating oil and time and you will get it out. The fact that you got it to turn any is better than some have done in a weeks time so you should be go to go is short order. Use aint-sie when you put it back together.

Is there not a nut on the back side that is turning?

Tried for another hour, still keeps turning but
Not backing out. No nut on back side that I can see.
Any other ideas.
The alternator is bad so I need to get it out and replace it. No need for penetrating oil because it's turning
That was the last thing I needed to do to get it roadworthy.
I am really disappointed!

It is a long bolt . You have to hold it on one side and turn the nut on another one.
If you are not holding it - it just spins.
I have these pics , they are not the best , but you can see what I am talking about.
The bolt head is right under the pulley.

All the ones I have done had I think a 17 mm nut on the back. Not much more help.

If I understand this right. You do not have a nut on the bolt. The bolt turns but does not back out. It is possible you do not have a stock distributor. I have seen the long bolt on the bottom of the alternator installed with the bolt required to exit towards radiator and also exit towards the firewall. Depending on the size of your forearms and flexability. You might try applying force to the stript end of the bolt where the nut should be pushing in with a small screw driver while turning the bolt on the other side. If any of the bolt is sticking out on the side where a nut would have gone you might be able to make a flathead screwdiver slot on the end of the bolt so you can push and turn at the same time.
When i converted to the 95amop alternator the bolt had to exist the radiator side. I discovered the original alternator was put on the engine before the radiator was installed because the bolt was a full inch to long to take off. As a Result, I had to get in there with a dremel and cut the bottom bolt. Fun stuff. Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes the bolt has to exit the radiator side and it is quite long. Definately no nut on back fire wall side. I'll try applying pressure to the back side while turning it to engage the threads. Probably a two person job ,so ill try when i can get help.
Another question though. The 95 amp alternator bottom mounting bolt is much smaller in diameter ,how do i mount using the smaller bolt?

The bolt is a little thinner at the bottom. However, when you adjust and tighten it down it is fine.

Well after 2 hours ,of tapping on the back end of the bolt(no nut on mine) just threaded thru the bracket on the alternator.My helper turned the front end of the 19MM bolt as i tapped with a hammer.Think the threads were rusted and could not engage without a littlle help.
Installed the new 95 amp alternator but had to get a new vee belt one size smaller to get it to work.
What a job but up and running and went to Motor Vehicle today for my temp registration.Need to get Vin confirmed because car came from out of state.(Mass)
