cleaning air filter

Post by DocGraphics »

I have one of the "lunch box" style air cleaners (thanks Mark) on my 1800 w/ a 32/36 with a "reusable" filter,
How does one actually clean the filter & does it get some sort of treatment afterwards like the K&N ones.

I have cleaned it with compressed air & it looks better but still get some restriction, I know its still dirty as the RPMs change when its removed, .

Also looking into the K&N 56-1010 oval filter, anyone have this & is it worth the cost ($100) compared to the lunchbox ($20)
Or anyone know where to get a replacement filters for the lunchbox

I have replacement filters. Don't use compressed air to clean them! Wash it with soap and water, then air dry it. You can get an aerosol oil for air filters at most auto parts stores

Thanks Mark, some how I knew you'd have the answers.

Still interested in the benefits of the K&N filters, anyone have experience with one?
