Well, you find the year you need and you print all the year related diagrams.
A3 is a must, bigger will not be clear enough.
Then, you check the titles.
Imagine there is one diagram per circuit, basically one diagram per fuse or group of fuses (lights together, etc...).
Plus one index page with the list of all components.
First of all you look into the list of items to find its number on the diagram.
Then you follow the wires, (colors are indicated with codes, and codes are listed on one page) to find where it goes and where it comes from...
As there is one circuit per page, you may find sometimes some 6 pins connectors which are partly described on 2 or 3 pages, as they belong to 2 or 3 different groups.
Does this help ?

What I have been doing, which has helped me a lot, is to mark the connectors with indelible ink as you identify them, "C23" etc. It makes it a lot easier next time going in there to sort out something.

Re: wiring diagham GOT IT
I did the same, and it is really efficient to go from the items to the diagrams, and easier when putting things back together.
And then you realize there are plenty of equipments and related wires you don't need anymore, so you start cutting them, one by one, from one end to the other.
