Thin Chrome Bumpers and Brackets

Post by opus10583 »

Hi,

Have a set of pre-75 bumpers, not sure which year or how to differentiate, and a '78 CS1 they need to go on to, sooner rather than later:

Does anyone know if the Spider-Point bumper brackets will fit these, or only their own repro bumpers?

Thanks,
Mark

Thanks!

I've since been told theirs match the Euros and up to '72 US items.

...Apparently the '73-74 US items are distinct.

Do you know how to tell the bumpers series apart?

Thanks again,
Mark

The later style like my 73 have post on the bumpers to mount the side of the bumpers the body. The early ones I have seen just have an angle bracket on the sides t bolt on unlike the post that slide thru a hole with a gromment to a bracket attached to the car. Also the later style have a nut that holds them on to a stud on the body where the early ones have the plate that slides in and bolts to the frame rails. Even though they say they are early mounting style mount Im sure you would still have to modify them to fit correctly. They dont even fit their own bumpers from what I have read.
