looks like the board got pretty hot. That would make the connectors suspect. A jury rig like that doesnt necessarily mean that is the problem.

Yeah I cleaned the board and noticed one of his "job" connections are less than attached. Also the connection piece like mentioned looked to be in pretty bad shape. I believe it is worth replacing or at least a total refurbished both pieces.

Mundo bummer :(

Anyone know where I can get a replacement for the left '80 spider tail light panel?
I'll put a request in the "looking for parts section" too.

Found the part! ordered it a few hours ago.
I do agree though, a new one would be nice to have to worry about it in the future though.

Just an update, I replaced the circuit board for the left tail light and it fixed half my problems. The current issue is that my left running light and licence plate light will not work when lights are on.

Any ideas? I think its the wiring and connector piece to the circuit board.

awesome... love it when one piece solves lots of problems.... do you have a volt tester to check that power is making all the way to the bulb??? if not start backtracking till you find power and fix from there out.... quick way would be to switch in a known working bulb.... nothin better than when all the lights come on like they are supposed to....

Haha I certainly enjoyed it.
I tested the bulb, it''s good. The bulb socket( on the circuit board) however is not receiving power. I'll trace it in the morning.
I won't know what to do with myself when it all lights up :D

Fuse "G" is the fuse for the left rear tail/running lights and marker light.

Not sure if you have a wire diagram but I think the yellow/red wire going into the left tail light assembly is the running light power to the PC board. I took one of the connectors apart and found the wires are not soldered to the pins in the connector. inside the connector the back side of the pins have a "V" shape and the wires are pressed into the "V" for a connection.
I would take a sharp pin and stick through the insulation and check for power just before the connector. If you have it there it might be the wire is not making contact with the pin in the connector. The connectors open easy but be carefull the wires don't fall out of the pins.
