Welcome to the forum and good luck with your restoration. All of us rely on (mainly) the principal US vendors for parts - there are several good ones available. For general maintenance items, try NAPA, but not CTC.

Hello & welcome to the greatest place on earth

Always use USPS to avoid the bs of brokerage fees and with customs it is hit or miss. Labelling antique auto parts helps as well.

Welcome aboard Robert

I too am from Halifax area. I echo what 4uall says, use USPS but be prepared to pay the rip off brokerage fees, if you don't then it's a bonus. I normally use Auto Ricambi, but all the vendors on here are good as far as I know.

Joseph Braca from European Auto in Bedford is very much an expert on these Fiats, you should maybe call into his new place and get aquainted with him. He's a good guy to know.

There is a meeting tentatively planned in June for european car owners, if you are on Facebook check out "European classic car club of Halifax" it's something new for this year, have a look.

Good luck with the resto!

@Phil I though USPS (United States Postal Service) did not have any brokerage fees :? I have never had any. I do know that UPS (United Parcel Service) certainly does as well as FedEx

Like you say, hit and miss. UPS and courier companies definitely do, whereas USPS USUALLY don't. I have been dinged before though, the post office hold it to ransom until you hand over the cash. This is just my experience, maybe it's just my bad luck. Complete ripoff IMHO.

There's a difference between "duty" charges that must be paid on some things imported from the States and that all delivery companies must collect - including USPS, and "brokerage" fees that UPS and Fedex charge regardless of whether the item(s) being shipped attract duty fees. My experience is that while I never pay brokerage fees on stuff shipped to me via USPS, I have had to sometimes pay duty. Auto Ricambi is great to deal with because they generally classify the stuff they ship via USPS as "antique auto parts" which I understand do not attract duty.

Aaaah, So it looks like I have been paying duty and not brokerage fees. That would figure.
