Hi all. Long time lurker and first post! I was looking for a project car and found my baby in a used car lot that specialized in older cars. She had been sitting in an open field for over a year (in Michigan!) and someone had left the top cracked open about 2 inches! There was a puddle of water on the drivers side floorboard and the interior was pretty sad. But the price was right and it looked like a fun project:
Anyway, that was about 6 months ago and needless to say it has kept me busy throughout the winter. A big thanks to everyone on this board for all the help you have unknowingly given me. I would have been lost on a lot of things if not for your posts!
Here are some picts of the car today. First time posting pictures so I hope they all turn out OK:
You will be hearing more from me because I still have lots to do, but she runs good and is fun to drive. What more could you ask for?
I'm glad to finally get a chance to say hello to everyone!

Re: New Michigan Member
can you post a close up pix of your front turn signal. Does it have a dual filament bulb in it, or is it just a running light hooked to a flasher.

Hi azruss. The signals are just standard 4" x 2" running lights that I modified to take a halogen bulb (the kind with 2 prongs to plug in). I thought about an 1157 lamp but they were to big to fit so they are just turn signals for now.azruss wrote:can you post a close up pix of your front turn signal. The socket is a plug from a computer motherboard and the holes lined up almost perfectly. I was even able to keep the original rubber mounting from the original socket. The halogen bulb is a 20 watt if I remember correctly. (I know, I need to make the connections more permanent and stronger!! They have been working good for the last 4 months.
