Fiat spider restoration question

Post by btolman »

I am considering purchasing a 124 spider from either Andy's Spiders or Roadster Salon. I am wondering if any one has firsthand
experience with either of these restoration companies?

Years ago I talked to Andy when trying to source a part. He explained what he does when restoring a spider...quite an extensive process.
I read here years ago that his cars have won at the FFO in years past. Sounds like if you purchase one of his cars that have gone through one of his complete restoration processes, you could pay a substantial sum for a very well sorted car.

Hey Jim, If I remember from the discussion years ago, you supply the car to be restored and they completely strip it to a shell and then paint and rebuild with new components and by the time the dust settles I seem to remember the figure of 20-30 thou or more.
The cars look great at the end of it...

They are so nice :D
Well if you look at it this way and want I all rebuild fiat and u don't want to do any work, that's the way to go
I have a 69 and by the time I'm actually done with it it would have 25 grand into it easy
So I can see the price being high
