Simple Carpet Question

Post by profcucchi »

Did the original carpets cover everything from front to back?

Or did they cover just enough and leave the passenger under dash exposed?

I bought two very good sets for very little but they don't cover everything.

Thanks.

Jay,

that's what my carpets look like.

I have a file with the pics of your resto carpets and will go to Home Depot to redo parts of the carpets.

Thanks.

Used a tip from Capt. John and glued the ezcool to the back of the carpet and not to the floor, and my carpets stay in place with no attachment to the floor (had purchased heavy duty velcro but did not use). I like the idea of being able to remove the carpets if necessary to dry or clean. I also have good mats on top of the carpet and very happy with the feel and the immobility of it all.

After all my beautiful POR15 work I did not want to glue anything  I simply laid in the EZ Cool, then laid in the carpet, then put my thick rubber mats on top  Nothing has moved and like supplyguy said I can remove at anytime for inspections/work etc

My padding was still good, although I did pull it up to take a look underneath. Oh, boy...

I replaced the newer carpets with used, but I'm going to add black carpeting from HD to fill up the gaps.

I didn't use any adhesives, because I also have red carpeting that's in even better shape than the black.

Thanks, guys.
