When you press on the brake pedal, the right side turn signals stop working. As soon as you lift off the brake they work again. I checked this situation with the hazard lights on and the blinkers on both sides work fine with brake on or off.
The left side blinker works as it should.
Any ideas where to start?

I wanted to clarify that both the front and rear right side blinkers both stop working. And the blinker relay stops clicking.

Re: 77 124 turnsignal/brake issue
I have a very similar issue with my '81 124. When the headlights / running lights are off I'm able to use the hazard lights and my turn signals. The instant my foot hits the break pedal the turn signals will stop. The instant my foot leaves the break pedal they resume . . . . And as you said the relay stops clicking as well.
Now for the fun part - when my headlights / running lights are on I'm not able to use my turn signals at all.
Anyone else have similar issues? I've been cleaning ground pods and replacing the spade ends left and right . . .

These are usually grounding issues. Check the ground connections for both front and rear lights and also the bulbs.
On the '81 it may also be a connection issue at the circuit board. I bet that has been discussed here before so just do a search for it.

They are working now. The only thing I did was take everything apart in the back taillight and clean up all connections.
