1980 Spider Pininfarina

Just bought my first Fiat at the beginning of this month and I love it. I have to admit I never thought of driving a Fiat, but my wife was actually looking at Triumph Spitfires, when she came upon a couple of Spiders around town for a reasonable price. The first one we looked at had a nice red paint job but none of the gauges or interior electrical stuff worked. We then went about an hour down the road and looked at a 1980 Spider 2000 Pininfarina with 25000 miles on it for 4600. It was in perfect condition interior and exterior so we paid up and took it home. The guy we bought it from was real nice and seemed to know alot about the care. It's completely stock and super fun to drive around. Only downside is I've had to replace the sway bar bushings and shocks, and yesterday the clutch seems to have went out leaving me stranded in downtown Dallas. Luckily I enjoy getting my hands dirty, so figuring out should be a good time. I've already checked out the forum and there seems to be loads of tech threads here, so I think I'll be spending plenty of time online

Welcome aboard! You might check to make sure there is a good engine-to-frame ground strap installed. The lack of one (surprisingly common) causes the clutch cable to act as the ground, and can often lead to its failure.
