What's This?

Does anybody know what this is? It fell out of somewhere right behind the fuse box. What does it connect to? I looked for loose wires up there and couldn't find any that seemed obviously missing something.

Inspection lamp receptacle. Mount is on the left side of the steering column support. Right behind the fusebox.
