Hello from Northern BC, Canada

Post by sledbc »

On a spur of the moment deal last week I was able to trade an ATV for a nice little 79 Spider for my wife. It's in really nice condition, new paint, upholstery, but needs some oil leaks and electrical things fixed which we will work on.
Great forum, I can see there is a wealth of knowledge here and it is already much appreciated.

Already bought a nice set of 15" hyperblack wheels from Alisons Automotive and they're on the way.

Here's a picture of my wife's smile when I surprised her with the keys to the car :)

Hi there. Where in the great white north do you hang your hat? Northern BC... North of PG?
Anyway this is a great source of info to any issues the fiat might on the VERY odd occasion it needs attention.
The vendors in the States are great, just have them MAIL your bits and pieces up UPS is rather expensive. An alternative is to contact Ital Motors in Edmonton, they have Fiat and Alfa parts as well.
have fun, the better half looks happy..

Kitimat... kinda a straight run to Terrace but I remember some good twisties from there to Rupert... just have to pick the day I suppose. Have a good water tight top.?.
Nice to see the Fiats in just about all corners of the southern half of the province. Yours must be the most remote I know about on the forum. Perhaps might be one in Finland....kind of out of the main-stream.
There is another recent fellow here from PG who is doing an engine build...
Enjoy and feel free to ask any questions should the new addition act up in any way..

That's right, I got the car from Terrace actually. Body and paint are real nice, interior is great, engine leaks like a sieve. I'm going to start with one thing at a time, I'd like it to be a nice little reliable run around for the wife on sunny days, that's all. Top is mint :) but wipers don't work :( haha

If you have a dry covered place this winter to keep out of the little bit of snow that can happen up there :P , a simple engine re-build can be done quite inexpensively. Might consider an intake and carb change to liven up the performance...

Yes, It will definitely be kept inside haha. We have had 62" of snow in 24 hrs here before, probably not the best place for a convertible :)
I would totally consider an engine rebuild in the winter if necessary but I would need to find someone to do that for me, I am not taking my winter off of snowmobiling to work on a car :)
