Having occasionally used this and other groups for info regarding the maintenance of my 1977 Spider, it seemed time to join. Along with valuable bits of info gathered here, it occurred to me that I could also offer some feedback at times as I’ve busted some knuckles for the last 21 years keeping the car running. It has a little over 200K miles on the chassis and 86K on a motor and clutch replaced by a previous owner. It still turns heads although up close, it shows the hazards of being a past daily driver and city car.

It’s been off the road for 2½ years and I am now doing brake work and rear axle seals. Once I get it back down on the ground it’s a matter of sorting out the erratic charging system and she should be good for fun driving once again.

Welcome, I live across the bay in Walnut Creek and plenty of Fiat owners, as you probably know, in the Bay Area. Drop me a line when your car is off the rack.
