3rd fuel pump in one year

Good evening, today my daily driven FI spider's fuel pump died. It's receiving power when trying to start, it can't be jumped with a wire, so I need a new one. (The double relay is working as well)

My question is, this is the third one I will have replaced this year, we bought it a year ago, after it sat for 15, and so I drained the whole tank and rinsed it out before ever running it. Has anyone ever had this issue? Could it e that the fuel pump mount setup is crap, and vulnerable to water? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Also, I put 1000 miles on it in the last two months, but had to park it for the weekend because I broke the rusty pan hard rod in half.... Then the fuel pump dies today.

You can't clean a tank properly yourself. Have it cleaned and coated by a pro, or get a new tank.

First are you buying a good quality pump?
Second have you installed a filter between the tank and the pump. I think some of the vendors offer a filter that is used on the Alfa's that can be installed between the tank and the pump. A Wix 33248 is what I have installed.
Did you replace the fuel hoses or blow them out with compressed air?

My Spider's carb'ed but I have a filter in front of the pump.
