No turn signal - No hazard switch

Post by scotts76spyder »

Hi

I am new to the forum and just bought a 76 Spyder. I got a killer deal (paid a parts car price for a running car) but it needs some body work (dings not rust - I'm from Arizona) and some electrical issues. The guy who owned it before me took all the emissions connections off and it also has no hazard switch. My question is: Does the fact that it doesn't have a hazard switch stop the turn signals and stop lights from working? The headlights work. I have the wiring diagrams but I'm not too good at following them. There are two plug in connectors hanging out of the dash but I'm not sure which one is for the hazard switch (one is red and one is white).

Thanks,

Scott

Yes you need the hazard switch for the turn signals to work. If you can follow the wiring diagram you can use a jumper wire to get power to the turn signals without the hazard switch. I have an 81 and 82 so my wiring diagrams are different than yours so no help with that here.
