I keep burning up Ignition Modules and the car goes dead. Coil is reading bad per Fiat repair Manual. Could it also be bad grounds? I am spending way too much on parts, but the probelem still exists!!!!
Need HELP!!!!
Thanks, Marty

Re: Burning up Ignition modules, 81 Fiat FI spider
is the module mounted on a heat sink and the mounting side coated with the proper paste?

In addition to Mark's reply, My car has a ground wire connecting the coil heat sink to the passenger side cam cover. Also the coil case should be making a ground connection to the heat sink.
Is the high tension wire tied or clamped to the distributor pick up wire and possible arching to it?
Are you sure the ignition modules and coil are the correct parts for your car?
I don't think defective pick up wires from the distributor will cause the ignition module to fail.
