79 Fiat Spider owner in Victoria BC Canada
I'm finding lots of great info on this forum. I'm especially interested in anyone who is auto-crossing their Fiat. I'm new to the sport and love it I've got a couple of videos posted on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RECJu3segyQ and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUyakyAu19A

Hi there. Must have missed you, we were in Victoria a couple of times last week when staying in Chemainus.(slaughtered the salmon yesterday)
I have not heard of anyone out this way auto crossing their Fiats, cool thing to try though.
Going to keep the 79 stock or entertaining the thought of a few tweeks...?
Chris

I used to autocross my spider. My suggestion would be to add a rear sway bar. will allow you to drive much faster

Re: 79 Fiat Spider owner in Victoria BC Canada
Hi Chris,
I'm autocrossing with the MG Club of Victoria. I have the only Fiat in the club so far. There are a lot of Miata's, MGBs, Triumphs (TR6 and Spitfires), quite a few Jaguars, BMWs, Subaru's. I am going to try and get one last event in on Sept 29 with the Victoria Motor Sports Club.
Still working on learning the sport so may not tweak things on the Spider for a bit yet. I spent this season getting the engine in shape. It had a a pesky oil leak that took quite some time to fix and along the way, I upgraded the carb, had the distibutor rebuilt, replaced the master cyclinder, alternator and thermostat and a few other things. Now it's finally running great! Haven't decided what the winter project on it will be yet but there's always something! I will try to post my adventures and experiences autocrossing on this forum. Maybe we should start a new thread for autocrossing on this forum?

I would also suggest the 1" front sway bar as well.
How are the shocks? I went to Koni Yellows and they are great with the IAP reds and 1" front bar.
(I have 15" wheels with 205's as well)
Might look into the auto cross this way... looks like fun. There is a big English car club in Kelowna..

Everything is stock on my Fiat (except for a new, upgraded carb.) Winter project will be looking at things like upgrading sway bar and shocks to increase auto-cross performance. Thanks for the tips!
