Is Condensor needed on 81 spider???

Post by mrspahr »

I have an 81 FI spider. I was told that the condensor is not needed. Right now there is one connected to the B+ coil.
Can someone tell what is the correct method? I am ready to replace my faulty coil and ignition module and need
to get it right first time.
Thankyou, Marty 81 Spider

There is not a points condenser on the 81, it is a frequency capacitor to shunt static to ground so as not to interfere with other electronics (radio and so forth). Do a search on testing your coil here on the forum. They do not go bad very often. More likely other wiring. If you end up needing one shoot me a PM
