Hello Everyone!!!!

This is my first car restoration. I am not a mechanic but at the same time I'm not an idiot. I'm very confident that I can do most of the interior myself, but everything else will be done professionally or with the help of someone willing. The car is in perfect running condition and my wife and I will drive it together almost everyday.

I know I'll be spending countless hours reading and pouring over the many pages of this forum.

We can't wait to get the car tomorrow in Gilroy!!!!! It's going to be great sunny day, I've never ridden in a convertible, and I"ll be driving a beautiful one!!!!!

Happy restoring, folks!!!!!

If you've never driven in a convertable, you are in for some surprises. Wear a hat. the sun exposure can be very extreme. If you are driving at freeway speeds for any length of time you will feel you've been flogged by a wet towel from all the wind buffeting. rolling up the windows and opening the wings can help, but a great deal of the wind comes from the back. This is the purpose of the netting things behind the front seat. If the day is going to be warm, shut off the heat to the heater before you start, otherwise you will get heat on your feet. You will want to run with the vent open to get air flow to your feet. Take lots of water, sunblock, or a long sleeve shirt. sunglasses a must. i recommend polariod type as these windshields are at such an angle you get lots of reflection. One of the fun parts of convertables is all the smells you encounter on your trip. Be prepared to be bitten by the Fiat bug.
