HELP, no electricity

hi, i'm in process of complete restoration. I put some pics later. it's a 1979 spider 2000.
When I connect battery, nothing happens. Not even one light is up, nothing. Have no power on turn key.
Battery in new, charged.
Any suggestion...

check the battery connections and condition of the battery. The battery ground to body is important
the other end of the battery cable connects to the starter solenoid.
at this point 2 other wires are connected. one connects the alternator to the system I believe the other is power to ignition switch.
At the alternator there are 2 wires the one that connects to the starter solenoid and a smaller wire that goes to "hot all the time" power for cigar lighter and interior light etc.
the primary ground is a bonding cable near the starter and clutch at bell housing under the car.

A common troubleshooting issue is to assume what appears to be a single problem has a single cause. There may be more that one fault causing you problem

Yep, you can pick up a new ground strap dirt cheap and it is always a good move. Let us know how you make out testing power at the starter and ignition.
