Blinker issue

Okay, what would cause the left blinker to blink three times then stop. After I reset it another three goes and then nothing. the right will work continuously sometimes and others it will go four of five before giving up. Again, both sides will work again after moving to the neutral position.

The blinker relay will cause this, they get burned up on the inside.

A more rare condition is when dual filament bulbs are placed in single filament sockets, or vice versa, which seem to drive Marelli electronics nuts. Make sure you have the right bulbs and they are in the right places, then replace your relay, then report back.
