help identifying extra connector

Post by mighty7 »

Can anyone help identify what this extra red connector is for on my 1985 Pininfarina spider? It is in the center console along with the window buttons, trunk release, hazard switch, etc.

Thanks, Scott

Ok I figured it out. On each of the individual wiring diagrams there was often a reference to a "European Provision". However all those wires were never drawn together so it was tough to figure out. During my great saga campaign I ended up redrawing all the wiring diagrams, and then assembling them into one giant wiring diagram. From there it was easy to trace all the wiring colors in the mystery connector to the "European Provisions".

Ok now for the OBVIOUS follow on question. . . Does anyone know what those "European Provisions" are for? I know only a few thousand of the spiders were sold in Europe and I thought mostly in England. What do they have in their cars in the center console that we in America don't?
