i lied about the "turbo" part - i had it taken off. the car was from california and was one of only a few hundred made with a turbo for the american market in 1982 - couldn't find any turbo parts - just wonder if anyone else has one of these? (1982 fiat spider 2000 turbo)

Your at the right site, try posting under engine & tuning or one of the other tech subjects. I'm sure you will find some help. Have you talked to some of the Fiat part houses Like Vicks?

Hi there. Yes this is a great forum for help in sorting out your spider..
As for the Turbo... It seems when I see an add for one of these cars, the turbo has been removed..likely for the same reason, it packed it in and parts are difficult to source.

There are several here with a turbo spider I believe and one in Ottawa area is in the process of adding one (after market)to his car.
I'm not going to bet a pay cheque or anything, but I seem to remember (from here)the compression on the turbo's were a bit lower than the stock FI cars. Could be wrong on that though.
Where in BC are you?
