Hello, I have a 1970 850 Sport Coupe as well as a 1970 124 Coupe, both are undergoing restorations (an alternative term for sucking up vast amounts of cash!). My dad bought a 69 124 Coupe new in Europe and we were a Fiat / Lancia family till the 80's.
I have had many Italian cars and would appear to be returning to my "roots" with the two Fiats!

You have some of my favorite Fiats! I used to have a 1970 124 Coupe, a '67 and a '71 850 Coupes.
Great cars.

And from your username I assume you don't dislike Lancias either?

Re: New member in Portland, OR - 850 & 124 Coupe
Hi there, I too am in Portland and would love to see your cars as they are being restored. I am in the market for an 850 sedan to restore myself but so far no luck. If I find one it will be my 3rd Fiat and it almost NEEDS to be an "auto shift" so my wife can drive it or she might not be on board... I want to learn bodywork techniques as well as continue to learn mechanicals and electrics.
I have a friend in Beaverton who has many 850 parts if there is anything you might need for your resto.
I live in the Hollywood district and my workshop is in SE near 17th and Powell, where abouts are you?
Best
George

Re: New member in Portland, OR - 850 & 124 Coupe
Thanks for the warm welcome, I have been lurking on this site for a fair amount of time. For those interested I will post seperate threads in the Restoration section for both the 850 as well as the 124....
Thanks for tips on uploading photos, here is my first attempt...the 850 when I bought it in May 2011. It was a horrible looking thing that had not run in 19 years....
I do have a fondness for Lancia's, especially the pre-Fiat models. I had a Flavia 2000LX Berlina in the 1980's, a fabulous car! I am looking for a late Flavia / Pininfarnia 2000 Coupe. I have had the pleasure of working on Aurelia's and Appia's in the past, superbly engineered automobiles.
In the late 70's I had a Scorpian when they were still relatively new, on a trip to Italy I bought all of the correct bumper's, lights, door mirrors etc to convert it to a Series II Monte-Carlo clone. My brother and I went to the Alquati works in Cremona where I bought pistons, cams, 40 DCNF's etc direct from Senor Alquati...great memories!
I do know where there is a 71 (I believe) 850 Berlina for sale In NW Washington state, let me check with the owner if it is still for sale. I considered purchasing it but went for the 124 Coupe.
Thanks again for the great welcome!

The GF and I are in Beaverton, OR, so close to you. We just picked up 68 Fiat 6 weeks or so ago. Welcome aboard.
Know of any good body shops in the area? Ones that have worked on uni-body cars?
We need to do a meet and greet sometime..
