I recently purchased a 1976 Fiat 124 Spider - pretty good shape and was told "she was running when we parked her". Might have been, but since then there has been some water or ice in the block and the engine will turn but it's bubbling dirty water out the radiator, which suggests the block is cracked. Some minor issues with brakes, gas tank, clutch, needs some rust clean up and a paint job, but, with the exception of the engine, I'm happy. I'm hoping to make it a fun summer car and interested in doing as much as I can myself.

Going online to Wikipedia it looks like I'm looking for the 1756cc 132A1.040.5 engine (1975 thru 1978), perhaps a 1974 (132.040.4?). Can I expand my search to the older or newer engines or will this create more problems than it's worth?

Thanks, Tim

Hi Tim. I'm down the road a few hours near Penticton.
If you need a 1800 block, let me know, I have a couple down here or I have a spare 2L as well. One is still in a car and I want to keep the head and intake manifold from it. The other is on a stand, cleaned, boiled and honed.
Let me know. shop # 250 494-4471
