Fuel light first

Folks, had a first today and I bet it has happened to some of you but I wanted to check. I had about 4 gallons of gas in the Spider and pulled out of a parking lot into traffic making a right under hard acceleration to hit a gap in traffic. The fuel light blinked for a second. I suspect I sloshed the fuel around creating a false signal. Common?

get that all the time at about 1/4 of a tank, don't really know how many litre's (or gallons)...

Yes, my light comes on too at about 4 gallons, so I know I have about 100 miles left.
