Mark here from Gilbert SC (right outside Columbia.) About six months ago I saw an ad for a 850 spider, and it brought back memories of the beloved 1968 spider I had in College about thirty five years ago. I swore if it wasn't rusted in half, I'd have to own it. Got it for $700. It's been too much fun so far. Mechanicals are now up to snuff, the bodywork is pretty much there, the car is almost reassembled. Went with Silver, It looks pretty good but man those body men sure earn what you pay 'em not sure I want to do that again. I'm down to installing carpet, the new windshield rubber, recovering the seats, installing the top, and I'll be driving a whole car again! (of course I've been driving around with car partially disasembled, the thing is just too much fun!) I've amassed a pretty good parts hoard including a super rusty parts car with complete drive train intact (72), and assorted parts from an earlier car including an 843 block. I know how hard parts are to come by so when I get totally done the next job is to start passing along stuff from the extra parts pile.
