The only accurate wiring diagram I have found is the one that came in the owner's booklet that comes with the car (73). I got it enlarged and laminated. It came out quite sharp at 3x3.

The diagrams in general are about 95% accurate from car to car. Most of the time you'll find that a few wires are differently colored than what FIAT shows in the diagram. The other point I've found problematic is the omissions for USA emissions controls, which are marginally documented at best (many had supplemental paperwork but you have to dig through service guides to find them).

Good news - the cars are fairly easy to diagnose and, compared to most cars, have very few wires.

Bad news - the cars never had a good electrical system to begin with, cheap materials, gang grounds in bad spots, mixture of aluminum and copper connections that aren't snug enough to keep them from corrosion, and so on.

Best bet is to fix things and keep the car dry and inside.

On the copyright issue, these things are in the public domain. There are literally hundreds of places to download shop manuals, wiring diagram, service letters, etc., and despite what one former vendor tries to claim (that he has sole rights to distribute) FIAT as a company really couldn't care less. Even if they did, public domain rules are going to prevail, there is too much out there and its been out there for so long without any interest from FIAT that it is simply too late for them to do anything about it.

I used to think that a car maker who would keep a copyright on his factory documents would be unfair.
A car maker who would pay so little attention to his documents that there would be absolutely no information available is a much worse situation.

From what I remember, the diagrams were fairly detailed. I will admit that I looked but not as close as one would if you were actually trying to track wires down. I'm sure that once Jay receives it via snail mail, he will share details.

I have used them many times, I have traced a few shorts by using them, some I notice that it shows a color wire ( blue ) and I never could see it,never was there, but that don't mean nothing
