1975 Wiring Diagram

Post by gcorsar »

Why is there no wiring diagram for the 1975 Spider? :(

I've looked at the http://www.artigue.com/ site, the one most often cited in this forum, and even checked one distributor's catalog and they all seem to have diagrams before and after 1975. Was the 1975 wiring such an oddity that it can't be reproduced in electronic or print media? :?

I even tried buying a 1975 owner's manual on ebay hoping it would have the wiring diagram but it was either not included in this version of the manual or snatched by some other frustrated owner who realized they're as scarce as hen's teeth!

Please, is someone has a color version, could you please scan it and make it available? I'd be forever grateful!! :P

Because no one has ever given me a clean copy. 75 had a unique diagram vs. the other years. Same basic wiring as 76, but every year had its quirks.

Someone shoot me a nice clean, legible scan and I'll trace it just like the others.

Jay, thanks for the links! I read thru the other post and asked if Mark still had the diagram. The topic is from 2010 so I may not get a response. The '76 diagram link helped a lot.

Brad, I'm hoping Mark from Jay's forum link can help with the diagram. I've got some serious wiring issues from a PO and some of the '76 wiring doesn't match my car. That might be due to the serious wiring issues and not a quirk of Fiat engineering. :D

It is the best scan I have of the 75, it is fairly legible. Take it over to a drafting place and have it printed 24x36, it was scanned at that size. You can zoom into nicely. Still it isn't so hot and isn't in color though the colors are marked.

It is pretty easy to spot the non-FIAT wiring. The most confusing mess I ever had was an owner-installed alarm system that the guy had wired into the ignition, the interior lamp, the trunk light, and the radio. It takes patience. All I can say is get all of your positives straight before you try to tackle the grounds. Get a good multi-meter like a Fluke or Tektronix - never use a "voltmeter" that has no power of its own. Learn how to use it and you'll save lots of time, especially with the continuity functions in a good unit:

Thanks Brad. I'll see what I can do to get a good clean printout, but what you've posted is better than what I've used so far.
