Well I made the plunge!!! I picked up a rust free single owner 1978 fiat 124. This car has a/c which I have never seen before, is this common? It has sat in the garage since 2004. It is in need of interior and all rubber (rubber doesn't last long out here)
I was wondering if any one knew of a good machine shop in the Phoenix area?
Thanks!
Mark

Re: Hello from Arizona
Plenty of help here on the forum. Most of the vendors will have the correct replacement rubber. There are a few members in the Phoenix area who might be able to recommend a good machine shop. If you are in the Tucson area either Tuc124 or I can recommend a place or two.
A/C wasn't unheard of in these cars and is more commonly found in the later years. However, quite a few were disconnected because the A/C unit robbed power or the unit became inoperable.
Welcome aboard!

Re: Hello from Arizona
Thanks for the great welcome!!!
Since the old boy still runs good minor oil leak
I have decide to tackle the the top and interior. It was tan top (what was left) and int. I have decide to go black. Just finished cleaning up the bows and will attempt to install the top soon. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
And carpet????? I found some at stock interiors for a good price? Anyone have any feedback?
Thanks all!

Re: Hello from Arizona
Hi Mark, welcome.
About the top and carpets. This forum has a wealth of information. The search works pretty well and just about everything's been covered, so give it a try.
Here's about all you'll need about top replacement:
http://www.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic ... on#p133855
Plenty about carpets too.
But even so, ask away, no one minds.
How about some pictures.

Re: Hello from Arizona
Instead of making a whole new thread I figured I would piggyback off this thread and say hi as well. I'm also from AZ and just picked up my first Fiat. I'm very excited to start working on it.
