That Craigs list car in Denver is beautiful, two owners from new, about 400 miles a year. Minty. All factory original!
So i bought it....... yup. I got it bad.
Will I drive it much? No. Will I drive my RS car? yes. Am I crazy? ....... aren't we all kinda.
So if I understand, you bought both the RS Spider AND the one listed on Denvers CL?

Well, that is pretty impressive! It's not often that you see even one decent Spider in a garage, let alone two mint examples like you have.

Love to see some pics of these two beauties. As we say on many forums - pictures, or it didn't happen!

Lets see if I can do a photo bucket link, If not go to the Craigs list link and follow to his photo bucket. here goes:
http//s669.photobucket.com/user/barronpark75xi/slideshow/1983%20Fiat%202000

Otherwise, I'll try to sit down and figure out how to do photos. I can fix a '60's tube amplifier with chewing gum and paper clips so you can finish the gig..... but not real great at getting photos up on this sight. i've tried.

Also, I hope I didn't step on anyones toes buying that Denver car. "81spidermatt" posted the link. i waited a few days then called. The seller said someone from Maine was asking about it. It took a weeks worth of questions before I bought it.
I didn't mean to "swoop in' and step on anyones deal. It's the cleanest Spider I've ever seen, and I'll say again these cars seem cheap considering the current sports car market. I will likely sell it at some point. "pictures or it didn't happen".... I love it.

So.. go to http://www.roadstersalon.com for some fun photos of these cars. My green (smoke Grey) 1980 was used for a few photos.
Lots of general "eye candy" on their site. You might not agree with how they "ala carte" the restorations. But they do make them into works of art. Had Pininfarina not made a deal building the Cadillac Allante' i think they would have continued the upscale idea they started with the 1985.5 model Azzura Spiders. I believe thats what Roadster Salon is thinking with the more expensive restro's they offer. Cheers.

Seriously? Anyone who wants to send me their spider and 30k, I'll send it back with the ashtray right way round!! Don't get it? These guys posted 10+ pictures of a 30k spider on the website with droopy bumper ends and the freaking ashtray installed backwards!! That says " buff and sell" to me... Just saying!!
I respect those who want a spider and can't or don't want to work on it, but don't go into the purchase empty headed. For 30k, it better be absolute perfection and from what I have seen, roadster salon is not absolute!!

I noticed the bumpers too and also the milky clock glasses. If you can see things being not perfect on a photo already, how much will you find when the car is in front of you?

restoration or refurbish

restoration is a complete disassemble of the vehicle down to the last nut and bolt. then the car is media blasted to bare metal, absolutely all body damage and rust repaired by using new panels or repair sections put in in a manner that no one could ever tell that it was repaired. then the car is painted, then reassembled from the ground up with all wear and rubber parts replaced, all metal lines replaced, engine and all drive-line components rebuilt. new upholstery and of course all chrome redone. 100% attention to detail, and you cant do it too good either, then it wouldn't be as original.

refurbished is anything less than that.

restomod is anything put back not as original

i say roadster salon cars are refurbished, not restored. because if they were restored they would cost alot more

Roadster Salon would like to thank the Fiat Spider community for their interest in our cars, and constructive comments about our work. We sincerely appreciate the feedback. Restoring spiders is our passion. Our production team spends hundreds of hours of labor into each phase of production. Italian cars in general are imperfect, and ours are no different. We constantly strive to improve the quality of our product. To that end, we are proud to say that every spider we restore is better than the one that came before it. Roadster Salon
