Tail light running lights not working????

Does anybody have a clue as to why only the running lights of the tail lights would stop working? Brake lights, turn signals, and headlights all work. It is a 1984 Fiat pininfarina spider. any tips on this issue would be awesome.

Could be a bulb, or connection between the bulb and its socket/connector. The circuit board that hold the bulbs can get flaky with age.

Are you are saying the rear 2 running lights and both tail lights are not working? I believe this licenses plate lights would be out also. If that is the case they all are outputs of the driver side light assembly. Check the large connector on that tail light. The yellow/red wire in that connector brings power to the light assemble. The 2 pin connector is for the left fender running light and the other connector feeds the right side tail light and left license plate light. The right tail light has a 2 pin connector for the right running light. The right license plate is fed from the same connector that connects the left tail light to the right tail light but the wires exit the right side connector.

The only light in the tail lights that are not working are the running lights. Brake and turn signal lights work just fine. Now that I'm thinkin about it I dont think the license plate lights or any of the corner lights work
either. ????

Using a test light I hooked to the negative terminal of the battery and it lit up on every wire going into the plug of the taillights.

Were you checking at the drivers side tail light?? If so I think you should take the driver side printed circuit board out of the light assembly and inspect.
