The e-brake wasn't working so after I rebuilt the rear calipers I lubricated the handle and lever mechanism. I purchased a new e-brake cable and I'm going to install it hopefully tomorrow. I noticed that the route for the old cable touched the exhaust and the cable housing was burnt.
Should I just bent the holder up towards the car to move it further away from the exhaust or does it look like the exhaust is too high?

Re: Routing new e-brake cable
the cable should run below the exhaust if i remember correctly, i put a piece of header wrap on teh cable housing to keep it from burning. the routing is a poor design from day 1

I think I'll reroute under the exhaust with a heat shield piece. Or at least try it there and see which way works best. I think it really depends how close the muffler is to the body of the car. If it was original then it is really close. Otherwise it seems that replacement muffler jobs aren't as clean and move the muffler position away from the body and then comes in contact with the e-brake cable.
