Re: no power on window motor
If you have factory electric windows the left and right motor have separate fuses. I believe fuse 11 is left and fuse 12 is for the right motor.
Power to the left window switch from its fuse is on a yellow wire at the switch.
Hope this helps

Re: no power on window motor
I made a mistake with the color of the power wire. The power from the fuse in my wire diagram is orange. I don't see an orange looking wire on your switch. If you unplug the switch I think you will have power on only one wire.
Can you make comparison measurements with the switch that works?
My print shows one white and one black wire out of the switch going to the window motor.
The power window relay supplies power to both power window fuses that then supply power to the switches. If the right window works but the left isn't I don't think its the relay.
Wife colors on my left window switch diagram are orange in 2 terminals, white/black in 2 terminals, white in one terminal and black in one terminal.
There is another 8 cavity connector C35 behind the center console that the output of the switch goes to before it gets to the door jam.
Hope this helps

Re: no power on window motor
My book is for an 80-81 Spider so I don't know that your car is the same. It seems the wire colors are different. My book states C35 is located behind the center console near the heater fan. Again this book is for a n 80-81 car.
I believe with the switch unplugged from the connector you will have voltage to one terminal only.
With the switch plugged in connect your voltmeter to the center two wires. On the white connector that would be the pink and white wires. On the red connector the blue and green wires. With the switch in the center position I would expect the meter to read 0V. Command the window "up" now there should be 12V between the wires. change the switch position to "down" and the voltage should be 12V but the polarity should change.
Have you swapped switches from one plug to the other and rechecked the voltages.
I am curious if anyone knows if the power window switch connectors are different colors on an 1979 Spider. In the same area there was a radio power antenna switch connector. Could you possible have the wrong connector for the left window. Did the left window work for you at some time??

Re: no power on window motor
I don't know if window work, when I buy this car window didn't work because cable was in mess on drum.
I have wiring diagram for 79 spider, but there are no such colors which I have.

Re: no power on window motor
I guess my next thought would be do the color of the wires in the door that works match the color of the wires on the switch that works. If yes how about on the side that does not work??

Re: no power on window motor
Problem solved. I cut wires near switch and place a new cable from switch directly to door and connect to window motor and everything works.
Obviously old cable is broken somewhere under the dash.
Thank to all for help.
