Hood and Trunk Fit Question
I was wondering if the hood and trunk from a 1982 (Spider 2000) will fit on my 1978 (Spider 124)?

Re: Hood and Trunk Fit Question
I would have to figure they would fit, they don't sell the quater panels by year. I believe the only difference between the hoods is the accent bumps, in 79 they increased the size. Take a look in the various on line catalogs at hoods, they will tell you that the older styles are not availible. The trunks did not change, the tail light assembly has changed over the years.

Re: Hood and Trunk Fit Question
I think they changed the hood hinges in 79.

Re: Hood and Trunk Fit Question
They will both fit, BUT:
The '82 trunk lid will not have the stand, so there is no way to keep the trunk lid open.
To fit the 82 hood on your '78 you will also need the hinges from the '82 and the hood prop spring. You will have to adapt the spring to your '78 (drill holes in the upper radiator support). Another option is to cut the hood prop bracket off the '78 hood and weld it on the 82 hood.

Re: Hood and Trunk Fit Question
To keep the trunk lid open you could convert it it use gas shocks, I have a video and parts list under the custom tab.
